Hi, I'm Mark

I grew up in Narromine, nestled in the Central West Slopes and Plains of NSW. Life there was simple, grounded, and full of community spirit—a foundation that shaped my values and the way I connect with people. After moving to Sydney for university, I began a career in finance and telecommunications, which took me to London and Montreal. It was an exciting chapter, but I knew something was missing.

In 2008, I made the leap into fitness, joining Virgin Active and spending 15 incredible years living and working in Australia, the UK, Italy, and South Africa. As a yoga and pilates teacher and in numerous leadership roles, I discovered the profound importance of connection, community, and inclusivity. Whether I was building high-performing teams, leading a deeply moving yoga class, or supporting others in their journeys, these qualities became the cornerstone of my work—and who I am.

Now, I’ve planted my roots in Stroud, a historic town that has embraced me as much as I’ve embraced it. Here, I run The Nourishment Co, a wellness business that has grown into a small but thriving community focused on wellbeing. It feeds my soul to bring people together, and that same passion now fuels my work as a celebrant.

Becoming a celebrant feels like the perfect fit for this chapter of my life. It’s a privilege to work with couples in such an intimate and personal way, crafting ceremonies that captivate their guests and make their love story unforgettable. Whether it’s the laughter, the tears, or the quiet moments of connection, I aim to create ceremonies that stay with people long after the day is over.

My yoga practice continues to shape my perspective on love and connection. Yoga philosophy teaches that love is a reflection of the Supreme Consciousness present in everyone and everything. Celebrancy, for me, is an extension of this practice—a way to honour the unity we all seek, the connection that makes us human.

As Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj so beautifully said:
"Because you are Love.
The consciousness in you
and the consciousness in me
apparently two
really one
seek unity
and that is called love."

Every ceremony I create is a reflection of this truth: love is the thread that connects us all.

Crafting ceremonies that captivate an audience and create unforgettable memories for couples and their loved ones feels like the culmination of everything I’ve learned and experienced. It’s a role that brings me immense joy and fulfilment, and one that I approach with the utmost care and dedication.

Being part of such a significant chapter in your life is a privilege I don’t take lightly. It will be my honour to support and guide you through this deeply personal and magical experience, creating a ceremony that feels like a true reflection of your love and connection.

Why The Barrington Celebrant?

The Barrington Celebrant reflects my deep appreciation for this stunning part of the world. Nestled between the World Heritage-listed rainforests and the sparkling Pacific coastline, the Barrington region is a place of ancient landscapes, untamed beauty, and rich history. But beyond its breathtaking scenery, this land holds a much deeper story—one that stretches back tens of thousands of years.

The Barrington region spans the traditional lands of the Biripi, Worimi, Guringai, Geawegal, and Wonaruah peoples. For countless generations, these First Nations communities have cared for this land, drawing on its vast resources, passing down knowledge, and maintaining a deep spiritual connection to Country. The rainforests, rivers, highlands, coastal plains and ocean of the Barrington region provided food, shelter, and ceremonial spaces, forming an integral part of Indigenous life. That culture continues today, woven into the fabric of this region through ongoing custodianship, storytelling, and the resilience of its Traditional Owners. Acknowledging and respecting this history is important to me, and I bring that same spirit of respect and connection to every ceremony I create.

From the towering Antarctic beech trees and tumbling waterfalls of Barrington Tops National Park to the golden beaches of the Barrington Coast, this region is a sanctuary of natural wonder. The diversity of landscapes—rainforests, rivers, valleys, and highlands—makes it the perfect backdrop for life’s most meaningful moments. Whether it’s a wedding ceremony surrounded by lush bushland, a heartfelt farewell in a place of serenity, or a vow renewal with panoramic mountain views, the Barrington region offers something truly special.

Beyond its beauty, this region embodies the values I bring to every ceremony: a deep respect for nature, a connection to community, and a sense of history and belonging. Just as the rivers here carve their way through ancient terrain, I believe every ceremony should honour the unique journey of the people it celebrates.

I chose the name The Barrington Celebrant not only because of my love for this place but because it represents the timeless, grounded, and meaningful approach I bring to every ceremony. Whether you're exchanging vows, welcoming a new life, or saying goodbye, your ceremony deserves to be as memorable and heartfelt as the landscape itself.
